Community-Engaged Writing Workshop: Northern New Mexico
What to ExpectBeautiful Social Research Collaborative’s Community-Engaged Writing Summer Workshop
Designing for Justice in Community Projects, Programs, and Partnerships
Join us in Northern New Mexico for a four-day immersive workshop in community-engaged writing and community-led media. Through guided reflection, collaborative learning, and hands-on practice, we will explore how writing and design can share power, strengthen community resources, and build lasting capacity.
Rooted in methods developed through the Beautiful Social Research Collaborative, this workshop offers participants the time, space, and practical tools to create more just and reciprocal projects, programs, and partnerships.
❋ A Community of PractionersDesigned for nonprofit and community-based organizations, scholars, educators, activists, and practitioners committed to inclusive, sustainable, and community-led change.
❋ Designing for Justice Justice-centered work asks us to transform both our mindsets and the structures that shape our projects. Together, we will consider how writing and media can strengthen community knowledge, relationships, resources, and authority.
❋ Sharing Power, Building CapacityExplore practical methods for co-creating knowledge, sharing decision-making, and designing with communities. You will develop approaches that build lasting skills, resources, and capacity in community hands.
❋ Time to Slow Down and ConnectOur annual Northern New Mexico gathering offers four days to step away from daily demands, reflect deeply, learn from one another, and build relationships that sustain the work long after the workshop ends..
